I went into a second hand bookstore on King Street this weekend looking for a 'learn to play the piano' book and came out with 7 new vintage non-fiction books of various themes -- mostly surrounding interesting times in world history. With the geopolitical landscape changing so fast I have given up on reading actual new-release books. I am interested to read works published decades ago and try and get an idea of how the world has changed, why the author had that perspective and to what extent it played a part in propagandising readers. Did you know that during the Iranian hostage crisis in 1979, they let the Women and African American men go as a gesture of solitary with oppressed people?
